What We Knew
by Sarah Kläpp

Sarahs comics aim to be a selfish and intimate experience for both artist and reader. Poetry as comics. A world where the world itself is as loaded with emotion and as much a part of the storytelling as the characters, where the world reflects the feeling of the story. An exploratory style of comics that seek new ways to explore the comics field. Art as comics and comics as art. A wordless world filled with subtle momentary expressions. Claustrophobic themes and drawings in contrast to pages that are very open and free in their design. The short stories are separate but connected in tone and in feeling.

Sarah Kläpp was born in Gothenburg 1987. She is a Swedish comic artist and illustrator who currently lives and works in Malmö. Studies in sequential art at Serieskolan and graphic design at Östra Grevie Folkhögskola.
She has been published in several Swedish magazines and has also self published several comics; the most recent What We Knew 3 and You Do it to Yourself. She is a member of the editorial staff of C’est Bon Anthology.
