Åsa Grennval: Born 1973, she is one of Sweden’s most renowned cartoonists. She is one of the forerunners of the great wave of female comic artists working in Sweden today. She made her debut in book form in 1999 with ”Det känns som hundra å" (”Feels like a hundred years") and came as recently as last winter out with her eighth book, "Elfriede". The drawings is simple yet expressive and the stories are often sad and tragic but told with a liberating sense of humor. Åsa Grennvall has a Master of Fine Arts from Konstfack University College in Stockholm where she graduated in 2002. Her thesis was the book ”Sjunde vÂningen” (”Seventh Floor”) which also was her big break as a cartoonist.
